Nairobi National Park rules
The park is managed by Kenya Wildlife Service. The rules below are enforced by rangers and breaches can end your visit.
In the vehicle
- Remain inside the vehicle at all times except at designated picnic sites and Hippo Pools.
- Keep to marked tracks — off-road driving is prohibited.
- Observe the 40 km/h speed limit throughout the park.
- Do not open doors or lean out near predators.
- Give animals right of way and never block their path.
Around wildlife
- Never feed any animal, including baboons and birds at picnic sites.
- Keep noise down; no music or loud speakers.
- Do not surround an animal or crowd a sighting — leave an escape route.
- Keep a respectful distance, especially from rhino with calves.
General
- Drones require a written KWS permit; casual drone flying is banned.
- No fires or barbecues outside designated sites.
- Take all litter out with you.
- Pets are not allowed in the park.
- Be out of the park by 19:00.
Safety
This is a wild park with free-ranging lion, buffalo and rhino. Follow your guide's instructions without argument, and report any incident to rangers at the nearest gate.
